About

Our Journey

We are a family of five from Midcoast Maine who traded our home and minivan for a year-long travel adventure.

During our time abroad we’ll be learning about the world, taking lots of photos in lots of places, writing about our experiences, and posting updates here.

Us

Dad is our history nerd, outdoor junkie, and long-suffering Newcastle United fan who not only dreamed up the whole “what if we traveled for a year?” idea but actually made it real. He’s the brains behind the routes, bookings, and logistics, and usually the one dragging us up hills, into museums, and onto the next adventure.

Mom is our adventure therapist with roots in education and healthcare, forever chasing beaches, turning tiny kitchens into magic, and somehow keeping us sane and laughing when life gets wild.

Older Brother (OB) is our soccer-loving, cat-obsessed gamer who’s happiest with a Nintendo Switch in hand and a good fantasy book nearby. He’s picky about travel spots but California and epic castles usually win him over.

Sister is our resident Swiftie, K-pop fan, and cat whisperer, bravely trading sleepovers and school hallways for planes, trains, and new cities. She’s reluctantly on board—but fully committed to the playlist for this whole adventure.

Younger Brother (YB) is our fearless skatepark scout, video game enthusiast, and animal superfan with a special love for wolves, otters, and anything slightly mischievous (looking at you, Gollum). He’s always the first to make friends and the last one ready to leave.
